THE GUN DOES NOT FIRE
Designed by Gueorgui Chpaguine, the PPSh-41 its mechanism is operated by recoil and shoots open breech. It used 7.62 x 25 Tokarev ammunition and had 71 round camembert magazines or 35 round curved magazines, with a rate of 900 rounds / min. It also had a drawer of hinged mechanisms for easy disarming and cleaning.
Robust and reliable, it was one of the main light weapons of the Soviet army during World War II, becoming a symbol of its great victory over Germany. During this conflict, the PPSh-41 was used extensively and it is estimated that around 6 million units entered service.
Did you know that during WWII, on several occasions, German soldiers preferred to use the PPSh-41 recovered from the Soviets because the magazine had a larger capacity and they were compatible with the cartridges of the Mauser pistol ?
World War II involved most of the world's nations, including all the great powers, grouped into two opposing military alliances: the WWII Allies and the Axis Powers. It was the greatest war in history, in which the great adversaries devoted all their economic, military and scientific capacity to the service of the war effort, blurring the distinction between civilian and military resources.
Even during the Korean War, the USSR supplied large quantities of PPSh-41, and in Vietnam it was used as a weapon by the Viet Cong and Communist guerrillas around the world.
