HISTORY

The Peacemaker revolver, also known as the Single Action Army (from SAA), was designed by Samuel Colt in 1873 and was manufactured with different barrel lengths: the short version of 4.75 inches, the plus forms, 5.5 and 7.5 inches, or the imposing "Buntline Special", 12 inches.

This weapon was initially used by the army However, within a few years, most American citizens picked up one of these revolvers. The fact that it used ammunition of the same caliber as the Winchester M1873 rifle contributed to its popularization as a sidearm in the Old West North America at the end of the 19th century.

Oddly enough, this revolver received many nicknames. Aside from the mentioned Peacemaker, it is also known as Frontier or Widowmaker, in reference to how easily this revolver left wives of the time widowed.

The film industry mythologized the "peacemaker" in westerns of the 1940s and 1950s, and partnered with big-screen stars like John Wayne and Gary Cooper. So Roosevelt had one with his initials engraved and George S. Patton used two.

Feel the protagonist of a great western with the DENIX reproduction of this revolver!
